Some of the participants said that water restrictions and water metering have not a ected their behaviour, as most say they are conservative with water anyway.
Participants said that they are informed about water restrictions in their local area through radio. Some think di erent commu- nication channels could be used to improve delivery of water information.
Next steps
Both daily and high-resolution water meters will be measuring for 12 months to understand seasonal a ects, speci cally on outdoor water use, across districts.
This work will enable a baseline water use database across the country to understand how water conscious New Zealanders are, increase water awareness and provide water- use information to households.
