The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology recently published the results of an industry survey taken during March and April 2005.
The needs of the industry as identified in Building Research’s annual survey were consistent with previous years’ results and supported the current focus of levy funding.
Bricklayers usually dry-bed brick veneer ties but changes in the 1990s required ties to be encapsulated. BRANZ tested dry-bedded ties to see how well they meet current performance requirements.
A recent trip to North America provided opportunities for further refining the BRANZ moisture research programme. Some of the papers presented at a building physics conference are highlighted here.
