BRANZ Is monitoring an ageing Wellington City Council apartment block during a major upgrade to establish building performance and occupier satisfaction. This will give valuable advice for other apartment upgrades.
It’s been a year since Build last reported on the project in Papakowhai, Porirua, where nine homes were retrofitted in 2007 and monitored throughout 2008. Now complete, the study offers some valuable insights into sustainable renovations.
Nine homes in a Porirua suburb were recently renovated to achieve greater sustainability. Monitoring continues this year to measure the results but some useful tips have already come from the project.
